MODIFIED BITUMEN ROOFING MEMBRANES
These systems are a combination of asphalt roofing technology and rubber/plastic modifiers that give these roofs greater flexibility than traditional roofing systems. Like the TPO and PVC systems, they offer ease of repairs should a leak ever occur, and their lightweight construction makes them a great candidate for reroofing without tear off. Building with roof decks that tend to shift and split roofs are good candidates for these roofs. They are available in a wide array of colors.
TPO and PVC ROOFING MEMBRANES
These lightweight, highly reflective membranes offer affordability and energy savings in a single package. Because no gravel surfacing is required, these membranes also offer ease of repairs should a leak ever occur. If color is an issue, these membranes are a great choice as they can be manufactured to virtually any color selection. Additionally, these roofs are very resistant to chemical attack. Used largely in the new construction markets, they are growing in popularity as a reroofing system. Their lightweight construction makes them a great candidate for reroofing without tear off.
BUILT-UP ROOFING SYSTEMS
A tried and true golden oldie, built-up roofing systems have been around for over 100 years and are still an excellent choice for the right building. The development of the modified bitumen membranes of the late 70’s and early 80’s brought about the use of these membranes as base flashings systems in most built-up roofs, improving the overall performance of the built-up roof dramatically. The gravel surfacing on these systems makes them very durable and resistant to rooftop traffic. Combined with an elastomeric flood coat (also a new technology) the gravel surfacing is not only durable, but has an extended longevity.
METAL ROOFING SYSTEMS
Again, the one size or type fits all mentality has been applied here with some disastrous effects. Installed by competent installers on the right structure, these roofs can be some of the longest lasting in the industry. Put on wrong, they can be a nightmare you can’t wait to replace. Available in a variety of colors and profiles, there is a system out there to upgrade your building’s appearance. Today’s warranties cover colorfastness and watertightness for up to 20 years.
LIQUID APPLIED MEMBRANES
These systems can be applied directly over existing roofs with great results. Some of the roofs that can be recovered/resurfaced are built-up roofs, modified bitumen, metal roofs, TPO, and PVC single ply roofs. They too can be computer color matched to most any color selection. You won’t believe the fresh new look they will give your building. Warranties are available for 10 or more years.
